Hala Hashem, Senior Partner at ZH, is a highly experienced lawyer specializing in commercial, corporate, contracts, insurance, and employment law. Since joining the firm in 1980, she has led the incorporation and corporate secretarial division of the Corporate and M&A Department, advising local and international clients on establishing and operating businesses in Egypt.
With over 46 years of experience, Hala is recognized for her trusted client relationships and practical counsel on day-to-day corporate and employment matters, including labor issues, contract review, and regulatory compliance. Her long-term clients include AIG Egypt Insurance Company, Merck Sharp & Dohme, and Landmark, among many others.
Beyond her legal work, Hala is deeply engaged in social development. She serves as a Board Member of Al Nour Wal Amal Association for the Care and Integration of Blind Girls and Women, a Board of Trustees Member of the Magdi Yacoub Foundation and the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development.
Hala holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (1984), an LL.B. from Cairo University (1979), and a B.A. from the American University in Cairo (1979). She is admitted before the Egyptian Court of Cassation and is fluent in Arabic, English, and German.
