Mona Zulficar is the Founding Partner and Chair of the Executive Committee at Zulficar & Partners, where she also leads the Banking and Finance Group. With over four decades of experience, she is a distinguished expert in project finance, M&A, and corporate restructuring, and has been a leading figure in many of Egypt’s landmark financial and corporate transactions.

Her extensive track record includes advising on the first BOOT power projects, the first GSM telecom concession, Egypt’s first PPP project, and groundbreaking banking and capital market transactions such as EgyptAir’s first aircraft mortgage financing, the first GDR issue for CIB, and the multi-billion-dollar Benban Solar Park.

In addition to her legal practice, Mona serves as Chairperson of EFG Hermes Holding and the Egyptian Medium, Small and Micro-Enterprise Finance Federation. She previously served on the Board of the Central Bank of Egypt and was Vice President of the Constitutional Committee of 50, which drafted Egypt’s 2014 Constitution.

A committed advocate for human rights and gender equality, Mona chairs the Al Tadamun Microfinance Foundation, the Women’s Health Improvement Association, and the EFG Hermes Foundation for Social Development.

She holds degrees in Political Science and Law from Cairo University and Mansoura University, and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Zurich. She is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
