Ana Severova is a Partner with extensive experience advising on a broad range of transactions, projects, joint ventures, restructurings, and commercial agreements across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the CIS. She has particular expertise in the oil and gas sector, where she advises clients on complex cross-border projects and transactions.

Ana’s experience spans M&A in heavily regulated markets such as the North Sea to advising on investments in frontier jurisdictions, including Afghanistan and Iraq. She has drafted and negotiated a wide variety of contracts—from standard form agreements to bespoke arrangements—and advises on pre-dispute strategy, settlement agreements, and technical oil and gas disputes. In addition to her energy practice, Ana has substantial corporate and commercial experience across other industries.

Over the past 13 years, Ana has practised at several leading international law firms in London and Dubai, including Baker Botts, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and CMS. She has also gained in-house experience as legal counsel for an oil trading company and through secondments at ExxonMobil, BP, and Dragon Oil.

An English-qualified solicitor, Ana has been based in Dubai since 2012 and is fluent in Russian, Italian, and Macedonian.
