Jason Parker is the Managing Partner of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Dubai office and leads the firm’s Energy Transactions and Development practice, comprising over 70 attorneys across the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Admitted to practice in New York, England and Wales, and Dubai, Jason brings more than 17 years of experience in international nuclear law, project finance, and energy infrastructure development.
Jason advises clients across the energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on petrochemical and nuclear projects in the Middle East and Africa. He has acted as lead counsel for Petro Rabigh on the development, financing, and expansion of its world-scale refining and petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia—a joint venture between Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. and Saudi Aramco. In the nuclear sector, he has advised governments, sponsors, and lenders on establishing civilian nuclear power programs and developing and financing nuclear power plants, including a $20 billion first-in-country nuclear new build project in the MENA region.
A former welding engineer with BWX Technologies, Jason’s technical background in nuclear reactor manufacturing enhances his ability to bridge the gap between legal, commercial, and engineering considerations on highly complex projects. Having worked in New York, Abu Dhabi, Washington, Tokyo, and London, he brings a truly global perspective to his practice.
Beyond his client work, Jason is deeply engaged in pro bono and capacity-building initiatives, focusing on legal empowerment and sustainable infrastructure development in Africa. He serves on the board of Health & Development International (HDI) and volunteers with the International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP) and the Chandler Institute of Justice (CIJ).
