Hamad is a Senior Legal Consultant and Head of Middle East Dispute Resolution. He joined Rouse in 2017 and leads the Dispute Resolution Team in the Dubai office. He holds a law degree from The Lebanese University in Beirut and an LLM in International Business Law from Middlesex University in London.
Hamad specializes in trademarks and copyright, managing comprehensive intellectual property portfolios for major multinational brands across the Middle East and North Africa. He has extensive experience handling complex IP litigation, achieving outcomes that have influenced regional IP practices. He works closely with multinational corporations to develop anti-counterfeiting strategies and implement enforcement campaigns, coordinating with authorities, customs officials, economic departments, and courts to navigate administrative, criminal, and judicial avenues for IP protection. He also provides risk assessments and strategic guidance on IP registration, enforcement, litigation, and compliance tailored to client needs.
In 2022, Hamad contributed to a major consulting project to develop an intellectual property strategy for a leading regional IP office, demonstrating his commitment to advancing IP frameworks in the region. He is also active in capacity building and education, conducting IP training sessions for enforcement personnel in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and contributing to WIPO’s IP Clinics Program, mentoring SMEs from across Arab countries. Hamad is licensed as a Legal Consultant by the Ruler’s Court of Dubai and is a member of the Dubai Legal Affairs Department. Outside of work, he enjoys music and swimming.
