Uwa Ohiku is a pioneering Senior Partner at Jackson, Etti & Edu and a leading authority in Intellectual Property (IP) law in Nigeria and across Africa. She made history as the first Nigerian appointed by WIPO’s Arbitration & Mediation Center to handle domain name disputes and has led high-profile cases under Nigeria’s Dispute Resolution Policy. Uwa has worked closely with the Federal Government of Nigeria on key IP reforms, including the review of the Trademarks Act, Nigeria’s participation in ARIPO, and drafting critical documents such as OPEC’s IP study Terms of Reference.

Recognized globally, Uwa has been consistently ranked by Chambers & Partners as a Band 1 Lawyer for eight years and elevated to Senior Statesperson, the only Nigerian to achieve this distinction in IP. 

Beyond her legal expertise, Uwa is a Mentor, Life Coach, and Health & Wellness Coach. She serves on the Board of The Sickle Cell Foundation of Nigeria and founded The MediSSupport Foundation, supporting individuals with life-threatening illnesses.
