Ricardo Pillay is a Director and Team Leader in the Construction Team at LnP, specialising in construction law, FIDIC contracts, and infrastructure projects across Africa. As a lead attorney, he represents both contractors and employers under the FIDIC Suite of Contracts, providing strategic legal guidance throughout all phases of major energy, natural resources, and infrastructure projects.

With a deep understanding of the risks inherent in African construction projects, Ricardo excels at identifying, allocating, and mitigating risks to ensure project success. He has extensive experience in mediation, adjudication, arbitration, and other dispute resolution mechanisms, complemented by his strong knowledge of litigation processes across the continent.

Ricardo holds a Bachelor of Social Science and LLB from the University of Rhodes and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. A respected thought leader, he lectures on the FIDIC 1999 and 2017 Contracts and has taught Construction and Engineering Law at the University of the Witwatersrand.

His excellence has been recognised by the African Legal Awards and Chambers Global (2024), where he was ranked as Up and Coming: Construction.
