Elias Chedid is the managing partner of Chedid Law Offices in association with Dentons in Beirut. His practice is diverse and founded on extensive international experience, having spent ten years working in New York, Paris, and Dubai with major international law firms before returning to lead the 60-year-old family practice.
He focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, banking and finance, energy, technology, media and telecommunications, government and regulatory matters, and international arbitration.
Elias holds dual Lebanese and French citizenship and has been admitted to the Beirut Bar since 1998, the New York State Bar since 2001, and the Paris Bar since 2002. He earned an LLB in French and Lebanese law from Saint-Joseph University Law School in 1997, graduating first in his class for four consecutive years. Awarded a French government scholarship, he pursued a Master’s degree in Private Law from the University of Paris 1 – Sorbonne, graduating with honours in 1998. He then completed his Master of Laws at Harvard Law School in 2000, where he served as a staff member of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review.
Elias served as President of the Harvard Club of France from 2006 to 2008 and is currently Vice President of the Sorbonne Law School Alumni Association of Lebanon. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
