As the Managing Partner of Hage-Chahine Law Firm, Najib Hage-Chahine oversees all aspects of the firm’s operations and spearheads its educational initiatives aimed at mentoring and developing young attorneys. Under his leadership, the firm underwent a major restructuring to incorporate advanced legal technologies and implement a new system for the delivery of legal services.

Najib Hage-Chahine is a dual-qualified lawyer in Lebanon and France and holds the prestigious title of Agrégé of the French Faculties of Law, the highest academic distinction granted to French law practitioners. He serves as a Professor of Private Law at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Saint-Joseph University in Beirut and as a Visiting Professor at Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas in Paris.

He currently serves as the President of the Lebanese International Arbitration Center of the Beirut Bar Association, where he plays a key role in advancing arbitration practices in Lebanon and across the region.

Najib has extensive experience handling complex cross-border disputes and international business transactions, advising foreign corporations on matters including incorporation, acquisitions, joint ventures, subsidiary closures, and commercial contracts in the Middle East. His work also includes comparative law and regional compliance, and he is regularly engaged by international clients seeking to navigate the complexities of Middle Eastern jurisdictions.

As a seasoned litigator and arbitrator, Najib specializes in domestic and international disputes arising out of contractual and commercial relationships. His expertise includes cross-border enforcement of court judgments and arbitral awards, investor-state dispute settlements, and issues related to sovereign immunity and state entities. His experience in these areas has earned him recognition as a trusted strategist in matters involving foreign governments and international institutions.

Najib holds a PhD in Private Law from Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, a Master 2 in Private Law from Saint-Joseph University, a Master 2 in Criminal Law and a Master 1 in Business Law from Lyon 3 Jean Moulin University, as well as an LL.B. in Lebanese Law from Saint-Joseph University.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and a member of several leading arbitration and legal organizations, including the Beirut Bar Association, Paris Bar Association, London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Comité Français de l’Arbitrage (CFA), International Bar Association (IBA), and Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA). He is also a listed arbitrator at the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), Lebanese Arbitration and Mediation Center (LAMC), and Centre d’Arbitrage du Groupement Inter-Patronal du Cameroun (GICAM).

Najib is deeply involved in academic and professional development. He has authored numerous publications in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, Civil and Commercial Law, Contract Law, Private International Law, and Mediation, and his PhD thesis in Private Law received academic distinction. His research on international commercial agency law in Arab countries is regarded as one of the most comprehensive studies on the subject.

He is also active in international academic circles, serving as an Editorial Board Member of Al Adl Law Review, a former Editorial Board Member of the Harvard Business Law Review, and a former member of the Harvard International Affairs Council and the Harvard International Law Association.

Najib currently serves as the President of the Harvard Alumni Association of Lebanon (HUAAL) and continues to contribute to the advancement of the legal profession through his scholarship, mentorship, and leadership in both Lebanon and abroad.

He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
