Fayez Hage-Chahine is the Founding Partner of the firm and is widely recognized as one of the foremost authorities on Private Law in the Middle East. He is a dual-qualified lawyer in Lebanon and France and has had a profound influence on the development of legal education and jurisprudence in both countries.
He holds the distinguished title of Agrégé of the French Faculties of Law, the first Lebanese attorney to achieve this honor, and is the Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Saint-Joseph University in Beirut and Dubai. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in shaping modern Lebanese legislation, having participated in drafting numerous laws and regulations and presiding over multiple law reform committees.
Fayez has also made significant contributions to legal institutions both locally and internationally. He served as Vice-President of the International Association of Lawyers, co-founded the Academic Study Center of Saint-Joseph University in the Bekaa Valley and Dubai, and was instrumental in establishing the Lebanese Arbitration and Mediation Center (LAMC). He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai International Arbitration Center (DIAC).
As one of Lebanon’s most accomplished litigators, Fayez has led landmark cases that have set important legal precedents in Lebanese jurisprudence. His expertise extends to complex cross-border disputes and commercial arbitration, where he has acted as chairman and co-arbitrator in numerous domestic and international arbitration proceedings. His practice covers Arbitration, Banking and Finance, Contracts, Family Law, Inheritance, and Real Estate, often involving comparative law and multi-jurisdictional issues.
He is known for his exceptional command of the law and is frequently described by peers and legal professionals as one of the most prominent lawyers and law professors in Lebanon and France. Fayez is also a prolific author with numerous publications in Banking and Finance, Civil Law, Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, Private International Law, and Arbitration.
Fayez holds a PhD in Private Law, a DEA in Private Law, and a DES in Criminal Law from Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, as well as an LL.B. in Lebanese and French Law from Saint-Joseph University in Beirut.
He continues to play an active role in several professional and academic organizations, including serving as President of the Lebanese Committee of the International Academy of Comparative Law and as a member of the law reform commission presided over by the Lebanese Ministry of Justice. Fayez is also a member of the Compared Legislation Society in Paris and has held leadership roles in multiple legal associations, including the High Council of Arbitration at LAMC, the Private Law Section at Saint-Joseph University, and the Arab World Law Study Center (CEDROMA).
He is fluent in Arabic and French.
