Dr. Said is a distinguished Omani jurist and the head of AMJ’s litigation and arbitration practice, where he enjoys rights of audience before the Supreme Court of Oman. He brings to the firm a wealth of legal and judicial experience gained through a long and distinguished career in the judiciary, which culminated in his service as Vice President of the Supreme Court of Oman until his retirement from the bench in 2002.

Following his judicial career, Dr. Said was appointed Vice President of the Council of State (Majlis al-Dawla), the upper house of the Council of Oman. He was also selected by the Cabinet of Ministers to chair the committee responsible for overseeing the drafting of Oman’s new Civil Transactions Law, a milestone in the country’s legislative development.

With his profound understanding of Omani law, legislative processes, and judicial systems, Dr. Said has also represented the Government of Oman in negotiating numerous bilateral and multilateral treaties and has spoken at various international legal and diplomatic forums.

He played a pivotal role in shaping Oman’s modern legal framework as chairman of the founding committees of both the Higher Institute for Judges and the College of Sharia and Law, contributing significantly to the professionalisation and advancement of the Omani judiciary and legal education.

Dr. Said holds a Doctorate in Public Law (specialising in the Law of the Sea) from the Sorbonne University in Paris, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Cairo, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Al-Azhar University in Egypt.

He is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
