Thamer is a Partner and Head of SASLO’s Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration Practice, as well as an active member of the firm’s Corporate team. With more than 14 years of experience, he has developed extensive expertise across a wide range of practice areas, including arbitration, banking and finance, capital markets, restructuring, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, employment, real estate, and public-private partnerships (PPP).
Thamer regularly represents clients before Oman’s Primary and Appeals Courts and appears in both local and international arbitral tribunals. He is frequently appointed as an Omani law expert in major commercial and infrastructure disputes, reflecting his deep understanding of the country’s legal and regulatory framework.
In his advisory practice, Thamer counsels sponsors, lenders—including Islamic financial institutions and export credit agencies—and government entities on complex transactions across the energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, power, and water sectors. His work often involves structuring, financing, and acquiring large-scale development projects in Oman and the wider region.
Thamer holds an LL.B. from the University of Sharjah and an LL.M. in International Corporate Finance from the University of Reading. He is a qualified Omani lawyer and a certified Legal Project Practitioner (LPP). Thamer is fluent in Arabic and English.
