Rania Shammout is a licensed attorney with over 30 years of experience in litigation, arbitration, and legal consultancy. Since 1992, she has served as the Managing Partner at Abu Sharkh & Shammout Advocates and Legal Consultants, leading the firm’s practice in civil, commercial, and criminal law, as well as arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Damascus and an MBA in Business Administration from Charisma University, USA. Rania has been a member of the Jordanian Bar Association since 1994.
Renowned for her expertise in legal risk analysis for major projects and contracts, Rania is adept at drafting and reviewing complex commercial and investment agreements aligned with international best practices. She provides strategic legal advice to governmental bodies and leading corporations, demonstrating strong skills in negotiating and resolving disputes through litigation, arbitration, and ADR mechanisms.
As Managing Partner, Rania oversees the firm’s operations, case management, and client relations. She has successfully represented individuals, institutions, and corporations in civil, commercial, and criminal cases across all judicial levels and managed both domestic and international arbitration and mediation proceedings. Beyond her legal practice, she actively participates in community legal advocacy and reform initiatives and is a frequent speaker at prominent legal conferences and arbitration workshops. She notably contributed to the First Founding Conference of the Arab Union for International Institutions and Arbitration Centers.
