Mohamed Alem is the Founder and Senior Partner of Alem & Associates, where he focuses on complex commercial, financial, and investment cross-border advisory work. With extensive experience advising governments and state-owned enterprises, he is frequently called upon to assist with legislative reforms and regulatory developments benchmarked against international best practices. Mohamed is also a regular keynote speaker at major international legal and business conferences, where he shares insights on evolving global legal frameworks. His practice covers local and international banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, complex financing structures, regulatory compliance, Islamic finance, corporate governance, and financial restructuring, with particular expertise in anti-money laundering matters within financial institutions. Mohamed is a member of the Beirut Bar Association and the International Bar Association and has served as Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Lebanon Branch as well as the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies. He holds an LLB from the Lebanese University, a DEA in International Trade from Caen University in France, and an LLM in Comparative Law from McGill University in Canada. He is fluent in English, Arabic, and French.
