Zara Jamal is a Partner at Abreu Advogados and at JLA Advogados, Abreu Advogados’ associate firm in Mozambique. She has been a Partner at JLA Advogados since 2014 and at Abreu Advogados since 2016. Based in Mozambique, she advises on the implementation of international business ventures and project finance transactions, with a strong focus on the banking, insurance, real estate, agriculture, and energy sectors.

Her practice spans banking, finance, corporate, and regulatory law, where she regularly advises clients on complex cross-border project financing and structured finance matters. Zara also has notable experience in Islamic banking, having advised on the first Murabaha transaction in Mozambique, marking a milestone in the country’s financial landscape.

Zara is qualified to practice law in Portugal and Mozambique and is also registered as a legal practitioner with the DIFC Courts in the United Arab Emirates.
