Salim El Meouchi is the Chairman and Senior Partner of the firm and has been with the firm since 1968, a member of the Beirut Bar since the same year. He frequently speaks at international conferences on various aspects of law and has authored numerous articles on financial, commercial, and banking law, as well as on arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. He specializes in corporate, commercial, tax, banking, and finance law, as well as in all aspects of litigation and arbitration, often serving as an arbitrator before the ICC Commercial Court of Arbitration and in other institutional and ad hoc arbitrations. He graduated from St. Joseph University, Beirut, with a French and Lebanese Master of Law in 1967 and obtained an advanced degree in Lebanese Law in 1968 from St. Joseph University and Lyon University in France. Salim has held board seats in various banks and companies across multiple countries, is a member of the legal committee of the Lebanese Association of Banks, and serves as an advisor to the Central Bank of Lebanon. He has contributed to the drafting of several Lebanese laws, is a founding member of Transparency International/La Fassad in Lebanon, and served as president of Interleges, a global association of independent law firms, from 2004 to 2008, also sitting on Interleges’ executive committee. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
