Anurag (Ragi) Singh is a Partner at Gowling WLG’s Birmingham office, specialising in domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity. Qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales since 2005, Ragi leads the firm’s automotive manufacturing and electric vehicle sector teams, advising OEMs, supply chain companies, and energy providers on all their legal needs. He also heads Gowling WLG’s India team, leveraging his extensive experience with international transactions involving Indian and other overseas clients.
Ragi’s diverse client base ranges from owner-managed businesses and private equity houses to listed multinational corporations. With a background in technology law and experience as a professional cricketer, he also supports tech companies and the firm’s sports practice. Known for his pragmatic approach, Ragi balances risk management with commercial objectives and is committed to negotiating efficient, client-focused solutions.
He has played a key role in high-profile transactions, including advising Birmingham City Council on the £307 million sale of the NEC Group. Ragi is recognized for his detailed yet strategic advice, and clients describe him as “tough yet likable” with an invaluable focus on growing and protecting businesses. His expertise has earned him consistent recognition in Chambers & Partners and India Business Law Journal’s top international lawyer lists.
Ragi holds a BA in Law from the University of Cambridge and speaks English and Hindi.
