Ulrich Bäumer is a Partner in the Digital Business and Technology group at Osborne Clarke in Cologne, Germany, and is qualified as an Attorney at Law in New York. Fluent in English and German, he focuses on complex IT law matters including international outsourcing, software licensing (ERP, XaaS, Cloud), and data protection. With over 22 years of experience, Ulrich has successfully completed more than 400 global IT projects.
Renowned for his pragmatic, deal-focused approach, Ulrich is consistently recognized by Handelsblatt, Who's Who Legal, and Best Lawyers as one of Germany’s top technology lawyers. Chambers & Partners and the India Business Law Journal also list him as a leading Corporate M&A lawyer for India-related matters. He serves as co-chair of Osborne Clarke’s India Group, actively promoting Indo-German business relations.
Ulrich advises tech clients on M&A transactions, digital transformation, and legacy IT system modernization. He also lectures at the National Law School of India University, WHU, University of Cologne, and Columbia University. As in-house counsel for VOICE e.V., he plays a key role in shaping IT legal standards in Germany.
