Valérie Demont is a Partner in the Corporate Practice Group of a leading international law firm, based in New York, and leads the firm’s French Desk Team. With over two decades of experience, Valérie focuses on U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, securities offerings, and corporate governance. She advises corporations, private equity funds, and emerging companies across the U.S., Europe, Canada, and South Asia, including India.

Valérie serves as outside general counsel to numerous non-U.S. companies expanding into the U.S. market. Her experience spans industries such as life sciences, technology, private equity, and food and beverage. She has advised on high-profile transactions, including multi-jurisdictional acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures involving listed and privately held companies.

Valérie holds LL.M. degrees from Columbia Law School and the University of Paris II - Panthéon-Assas, and an LL.B. from the University of Rennes. She is admitted in New York.

In addition to her legal practice, she is pro bono counsel to Girls Who Invest and Sing for Hope and previously served as an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School. A champion of diversity, she co-authored the NYC Bar’s report on best practices for advancing women attorneys.
