PH Attorneys is a leading South African law firm and the largest in central South Africa, with offices in Bloemfontein, Sandton, and Cape Town, serving clients nationally and internationally. Established in 2002 by Violet Phatshoane, Acting Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal, and Douglas Henney, current Chair of the PH Group, the firm was founded with a vision of transformation, excellence, and innovation.
From its inception, PH Attorneys developed strong practices in commercial law, labour, property, and litigation, quickly becoming the pre-eminent law firm in the Free State. This reputation was recognized with the PMR Diamond Arrow Award in 2012 and 2013 for Best Free State Law Firm. The firm’s unique character blends passion with precision, ethics with innovation, and tradition with transformation—making it a “new breed of law firm.”
In 2006, PH Attorneys pioneered the formation of the PH Group, now South Africa’s largest legal network, enabling economies of scale and positioning the firm as a leader in collaboration and legal services delivery. A historic milestone came in 2012 with its merger with Naudes Inc., one of the oldest and most respected firms in central South Africa, founded in 1902. This merger combined over 110 years of legal tradition with PH Attorneys’ youthful vision and innovation, cementing its position as the region’s largest and most dynamic law firm.
Today, PH Attorneys offers specialized expertise across numerous sectors, including banking and finance, black economic empowerment, mergers & acquisitions, property, labour and employment, dispute resolution, criminal law, estate planning, tax advisory, intellectual property, mediation and arbitration, medical negligence, compliance, and child rights.
At PH Attorneys, we are not just a law firm—we are personal advisors, transformation leaders, and trusted partners. We aspire to always set the standard, ensuring every client receives our undivided attention.
