Ibrachy & Dermarkar Law Firm Successfully Represented Multinational Cement Producer In High-Value Fee Dispute
Ibrachy & Dermarkar Law Firm Successfully Represented Multinational Cement Producer in High-Value Fee Dispute
The Egyptian law firm Ibrachy & Dermarkar Law Firm, through its Litigation Department, successfully represented a leading multinational cement producer in a high-value dispute concerning supplementary governmental fees related to the registration of commercial and real estate mortgages.
The dispute arose from mortgages registered in connection with an EGP 1 billion bond issuance, which was used to refinance long-term loans supporting the client’s major capital expansion. Following extensive proceedings across multiple judicial forums, the Economic Court of Cassation rejected the government’s appeal and upheld the ruling in favour of the client, confirming that the supplementary fees were not payable.
The outcome highlights Ibrachy & Dermarkar Law Firm’s strong expertise in financial disputes, bond-related transactions, and the interpretation of complex fee and regulatory legislation impacting large-scale corporate operations.
The Ibrachy & Dermarkar Law Firm team was led by Ahmed Alsaid (Partner), with support from Yousra Elmahdy (Associate).
