Amendment in SCOMET items by Foreign Trade (D&R) Regulation) Act
The notification would come into effect after 19 January 2022
The Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has notified the amendment in Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) items of Indian Trade Clarification-Harmonized System (ITC-HS), Classification of Export and Import Items, 2018.
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, as amended by the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020, the Central government has made an amendment in (SCOMET) items, the notification read.
The updated information would be uploaded on the web portal of DGFT under the heading "Regulatory Updates" and the subhead "Import, Export and SCOMET Policy."
In order to provide transition time to the industry, the notification would come into effect after 19 January 2022.
