The Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) lawyer has informed the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) that it would positively consider any concrete business plan to revive the defunct Jet Airways.
He stated that parking slots are perishable assets and it cannot be utilized by other airlines and the deadline to apply for the next round of airport slots is January 15.
He stated that two new foreign investors have shown very early interest in Jet Airways other than South America’s Synergy Group, which is the only company to have shown interest in the defunct airline until now.
It may be recalled that on December 11, the NCLT had asked senior Civil Aviation Ministry and DGCA officials to depute responsible officials for the recently concluded hearing.
The NCLT had once again directed DGCA and the Civil Aviation Ministry to provide clarity about available Jet Airways slots.
Incidentally, the NCLT is scheduled to hear the Synergy Group about its stand on the airport slots shortly.
