DS Kulkarni’s brother Makrand Kulkarni detained while trying to flee the country
Makrand Kulkarni, brother of Pune based builder DS Kulkarni was detained at the Mumbai airport when he was trying to flee the country. He is an accused in a cheating case of Rs.2000 crores. Last year, DS Kulkarni and his wife were arrested by the Pune police for cheating almost 33,000 depositors and investors of nearly Rs.2043 crores.The Kulkarnis have been booked by the Economic Offences...

Makrand Kulkarni, brother of Pune based builder DS Kulkarni was detained at the Mumbai airport when he was trying to flee the country. He is an accused in a cheating case of Rs.2000 crores. Last year, DS Kulkarni and his wife were arrested by the Pune police for cheating almost 33,000 depositors and investors of nearly Rs.2043 crores.
The Kulkarnis have been booked by the Economic Offences Wing under various provisions of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act, Sections 34, 406, 420 of Indian Penal Code.
Makrand Kulkarni also an accused in the case had been absconding after his anticipatory bail was rejected.
Currently DSK Kulkarni and his wife are lodged in the Yerawada jail in Pune.
