Jasmeet Wadehra who was working with Vedanta as its General Counsel (GC) has joined Visa in Mumbai as Vice President – Legal for India and South Asia where he leads the legal function for South Asia region.
At Vedanta, Jasmeet led the legal function of the group’s iron ore mining, steel, ports, shipping and power business.
Before joining the global diversified metals and mining group, Vedanta in 2015, Jasmeet gained legal experience in private practice, and with law firm Dua Associates. He went on to hold a series of increasingly senior in-house legal roles across a number of companies and sectors such as GE Capital Services International as Assistant Vice President (Legal); Deutsche Bank as their Vice President & Head of Legal - GBS Service Centres; FedEx as their Managing Director - Legal & Regulatory Affairs; and also at International Paper as General Counsel – India.
He has been conferred “Rising Star Under 40” award by Legal Era magazine. He is listed among Top 100 Trailblazers - India's Finest In-House Counsels by Indian Corporate Counsel Association. Legal500 has ranked Jasmeet among top 100 in their inaugural GC Powerlist for India.
Jasmeet is a member of Confederation of Indian Industry’s National Committee on Regulatory Affairs and ASSOCHAM’s National Council on Competition Law.
