Former Supreme Court judge Justice Satya Brata Sinha, 75, passed away. He served the SC from 3 October 2002 till 8 August 2009. Former Supreme Court judge Justice Satya Brata Sinha, 75, passed away. He served the SC from 3 October 2002 till 8 August 2009. He was appointed the Chairman of the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) after retirement.
Born on 8 August 1944 at Dhanbad in present-day Jharkhand, Justice Sinha got his Bachelor of Laws (B.L) Degree from Chota Nagpur Law College in 1967.
Transferred to the Calcutta High Court on 11 May, 1994, he served as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi High Courts. He was known for his scholarly judgments on substantial points of law, and was a much sought after arbitrator for adjudication of high-stakes commercial matters post retirement.
