The Information Technology giant has stated that when attempting to register a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or while submitting a form with a signature on it, one might face problems.
The issues could indicate:
• Your Certifying Authority (CA) is not trusted.
• Please select a reputable CA.
• There is already a User Id associated with this Digital Certificate.
• Your certificate has been canceled.
• Your licence has been revoked.
To troubleshoot these errors, one has to go through these stages:
• Open Internet Explorer to utilize a trustworthy CA.
• Select the Tools > Internet Options command in Internet Explorer.
• The Options dialogue box appears.
• Navigate to the Content tab.
• Click the Certificates button in the Certificates section.
• The Certificates dialogue box appears.
• The box displays a list of the certificates, currently installed on the computer.
• To open the certificate, select the correct certificate.
• Click the View option.
Thereafter:
• Check the Issued by and Valid from and to details under the Certificate Information section.
• A reputable CA must issue the DSC and the dates must correspond to the DSC validation.
• If your current DSC was not issued by a reputable CA, obtain a new DSC from the CA.
• If the certificate was issued by a trusted CA, but you still receive an error for not utilizing a trusted CA, then in the Certificates dialogue box, click the Certification Path tab.
• Examine the Certificate path and Certificate status sections for more information.
• If the trust chain is not listed under the Certification Path section, contact the CA.
Also,
• When the parent and the child's CAs match, but you still face the problem of not utilizing a trusted CA, check to see if the sub-CA or parent CA has altered its root certificate.
• If the CA's root certificate has changed, the new root certificate must be deployed in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) server.
