Evera Cabs To Repossess 500 Electric Vehicles Of BluSmart

Evera Cabs to repossess 500 electric vehicles of BluSmart
With a focus on airport mobility, the company hopes to enhance its position in the spectrum
Evera Cabs (of Prakriti E-mobility Pvt Ltd), an app-based electric taxi service provider, has initiated the repossession of 500 electric cabs operated by BluSmart, a troubled entity.
While it has acquired 220 vehicles, 280 will be reclaimed soon.
Evera claimed that along with the fleet integration, "a big chunk of BluSmart drivers" would join it, with 10 percent being women. Over 150 drivers were already doing trips and recruitment efforts were ongoing to ensure service readiness.
With a focus on airport mobility, the company hopes to enhance its position as a leading electric cab service provider.
Nimish Trivedi, the co-founder and CEO of Evera, expressed, "What we're executing is not just a scale-up, it is a realignment of the electric mobility narrative in India. As key players recalibrate, Evera is stepping forward with clear intent, absorbing proven EV assets and trusted drivers to ensure uninterrupted service across key routes.”
The company added that its repossession of cab-hailing platform BluSmart’s vehicles through its lenders was a part of a multi-stage strategic plan to reinforce its footprint in the NCR's high-demand airport sector.
In the next phase, it would double the airport network expansion, extending services across all airport terminals in Delhi, as the integration of new vehicles enables full-terminal coverage. (Earlier, it operated only from Terminal 3).
Recently, BluSmart suspended operations across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai after the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) banned Gensol Engineering and promoters Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi, co-founders of BluSmart, from the securities markets for fund diversion and governance lapses.
