Odisha opposition parties reprove paddy procurement delay

The opposition parties of the BJP and the Congress in Odisha disapproved of the delay in the procurement of paddy and thus causing hardships for the farmers in the state.

The leader of the opposition, BJP’s Pradipta Naik observed the procurement has not happened in spite of the processing fees having been charged from the farmers and allowing paddy stocks germinations due to rain. He also said many farmers in Sambalpur district have not even been paid after the procurement.

The congress party alleged negligence on the part of the state government responsible for the delay. The opposition urged the Speaker to direct the concerned officials to look into the matter without delay.
