Premji Invest has acquired a controlling stake in Baroda-based specialty aroma chemicals company Best Value Chem (BVC).
Premji Invest is the investment arm of Azim Premji's endowment and philanthropic initiatives that has been active in investing in the Indian markets for over ten years with large investment corpus.
Best Value Chem Private Limited is engaged in manufacturing of Aroma Chemical and is one of the leading manufacturers of fragrance and flavour ingredients in India.
The transaction involves the selling of stake by existing shareholders and a commitment to infuse the primary capital for capacity expansion to meet increasing demand from its global customers.
The team from AZB & Partners that advised Premji Invest in the transaction comprised of Srinath Dasari and Nanditha Gopal (Partners) and Malaveeka Chakravarthy (Senior Associate).
