Vivek Subba Reddy Elected as President of Advocates, Association of Bengaluru
As the President of the Advocates Association of Bengaluru, senior advocate Vivek Subba Reddy has been elected. His election results were announced late evening on Sunday.
There were 4,804 votes cast for Vivek, while 2894 pieces of voting were cast for incumbent President A P Ranganatha. The total number of votes was 16,568 but only 11,131 were cast. The election to choose the General Secretary was won by Advocate TG Ravi and the election to choose the Treasurer was won by Harish MT.
According to a directive by the Karnataka High Court, the elections for the Managing Committee of the Advocates Association of Bengaluru must be conducted by December 22. This was to be conducted by a seven member High Power Committee (HPC), which has been appointed by the court.
A committee's term is for a period of three years and the tenure of the current committee expired on January 23 and the election is yet to be conducted.
