Nilang T. Desai is a Partner with AZB & Partners in Mumbai. His practice focusses on structured finance transactions and restructuring & insolvency. On restructuring transactions, he has advised resolution professionals, creditor committees, distressed debt investors and bidders. Nilang has been involved in some of India’s largest and most complicated IBC processes and related restructuring, including Jet Airways, Essar Steel, Bhushan Steel, Lanco Infratech, Reliance Communications, Alok Industries, Jaypee Infratech, ABG Shipyard and others. He has advised on some of India’s first nonperforming debt acquisition transactions by international distressed assets funds. He also advised on many of the large pre-IBC financial restructuring processes in the market today. Nilang is an Indian advocate, an English solicitor and a qualified Indian chartered accountant. He has previously worked with Linklaters and White & Case.
