Sapan Gupta is currently Group General Counsel of ArcelorMittal Group.

He has considerable experience in a variety of disciplines of law including Banking and Finance, Bankruptcy, Dispute Resolutions, Mergers and Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Private Equity, Fintech, Industrials, Infrastructure and Manufacturing. Sapan has expertise in a range of sectors including Steel, Mining, Power, Ports, Banks, Real Estate and Non-Bank Finance Companies.

Prior to his current role with ArcelorMittal Group and AMNS, Sapan was a Partner & National Practice Head at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, which is one of India's most distinguished law firms. Whilst working for Bajaj Finance, Sapan supervised all legal affairs in his capacity as Chief Legal Officer. As Deputy Head of Legal at Standard Chartered Bank in India and South Asia, he oversaw all transactions governed by English law. He has also previously held positions at Tata Group, ICICI Bank and HSBC.

Sapan has extensive international experience having worked in New York at leading US law firm Sidley Austin. Aside from the US, he has also worked and studied in Kuala Lumpur and London. Sapan is licensed to practice law in both India and New York State.
