Additional Solicitor General RS Suri passes away
His daughters Suruchi and Simar are also advocates
Additional Solicitor General and senior advocate Rupinder Singh Suri has passed away. The former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Suri had been in the profession for over four decades.
Having enrolled in Delhi in 1976, he founded the law firm Suri & Co in 1984. He also served as President of the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association and as standing counsel in the Supreme Court of Punjab (two terms) totaling 15 years.
Suri was designated senior advocate in 2009 and appointed Additional Solicitor General in June 2020.
He is survived by his wife Gurvinder Suri and advocate daughters Suruchi and Simar.
