Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Biocon Limited (Biocon), in relation to the sale of shares of Syngene International Limited (Syngene International) by Biocon, with a reported aggregate value of INR 2240 crore.
The Capital Markets Practice of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Biocon (the Seller) for the transaction and assisted with, reviewing, and finalizing the transaction documents. The transaction team was led by Reuben Chacko, Partner & Regional Co-Head Markets Practice (South); with support from Tanvi Kini, Senior Associate.
As a part of the Transaction, Biocon sold 40,000,000 equity shares held in Syngene International by way of a bulk trade on the BSE Limited, aggregating INR 2240 crore.
Other Parties and Advisors to the transaction included Spark Institutional Equities Private Limited (acted as Sole Broker), Avendus Capital Private Limited (acted as Sole Advisor), and Linklaters Singapore Pte Ltd (acted as international legal counsel to the Broker and Advisor).
The transaction was signed on 31st January 2023; and closed on 02nd February 2023.
