The leading law firm in India, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) advised Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited (LMEL) on its acquisition of a 49.99% stake in Thriveni Pellets Private Limited (TPPL) from Thriveni Earthmovers Private Limited (0.99%) and Adler Industrial Services Private Limited (49%). The transaction was executed pursuant to a share purchase agreement dated August 12, 2025, marking a strategic investment by LMEL to strengthen its presence across the iron ore and steel value chain.

The acquisition enables LMEL to enhance its pellet production capabilities, ensuring raw material security and supporting its long-term growth strategy aligned with core business operations.

The SAM transaction team was led by Dnyanraj Desai (Partner), with support from Subhojit Das (Principal Associate), Tejash Bhandari (Associate), and Sudekshana Venkatesan (Associate).

The Competition Team was led by Ritwik Bhattacharya (Partner) and Manika Brar (Partner), with assistance from Ritesh Puri (Senior Associate), Rohan Dembani (Associate), Sai Singh (Associate), and Devarsh Kotak (Associate).
