CMS Francis Lefebvre has announced the appointment of Foucaud Jaulin as a Partner to enhance its capabilities in the Energy and Infrastructure sectors across Africa, emerging markets, and Europe. He joins the firm’s Energy & Climate Change and Infrastructure & Projects practices, bringing with him substantial experience in project development and financing.
With over 14 years of legal experience, Foucaud has built a strong reputation for advising on the development, structuring, and financing of international infrastructure projects. His expertise spans the entire lifecycle of infrastructure ventures, including negotiations with public authorities, financing strategies, operational management, privatizations, and asset acquisitions. He has advised a wide range of stakeholders, including international corporations, developers, investment funds, financial institutions, and governmental bodies.
Prior to joining CMS Francis Lefebvre, Foucaud served as a Partner in the Energy & Infrastructure team at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe for nearly nine years. He began his career at Gide Loyrette Nouel, working first in Moscow and then in Paris within the Projects (Finance & Infrastructure) team.
Foucaud’s work has earned him notable accolades. He was recognized as an “Up-and-Coming Partner” in the Chambers France rankings and named a “Next Generation Partner: Energy Projects” in Legal 500 EMEA 2024. He also featured in Jeune Afrique’s list of the 100 most influential lawyers in French-speaking Africa.
He holds a Master's in Management from ESCP Europe (2010) and a dual Master's in French and German Business Law from the University of Paris X Nanterre and the University of Potsdam, Germany (2007).
