Debevoise & Plimpton LLP advised Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, in its agreement with the founding family of W. R. Berkley Corporation, which includes the acquisition of 15% of shares in W. R. Berkley Corporation.

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. is a leading Japanese property and casualty insurance carrier. The agreement marks a significant step in Mitsui Sumitomo’s international expansion strategy.
