The global law firm Freshfields advised longstanding client Mercuria Energy Group (“Mercuria”), one of the largest independent energy and commodity groups in the world, on its entry into a joint venture with Tata International Limited, the global trading and distribution arm of the Tata Group. The joint venture will expand Mercuria’s global trading businesses across multiple commodities, enabling the trade of a diversified basket of commodities in international markets and supporting the development of Mercuria’s trading activities in India and internationally.
The proposed transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
