Clifford Chance Advised Middleground Capital On Its Acquisition Of Zoerkler

Xtrac’s product line will be enhanced and its offerings will be expanded into highly attractive markets by Zoerkler while keeping focus on serving long standing core motorsport and high-performance automotive customers.

Clifford Chance has advised MiddleGround Capital (MiddleGround), a private equity firm headquartered in USA, on the latter’s acquisition of Austria-based manufacturer and supplier of high-performance transmission components for industrial, rail, automotive and aerospace and defence, Zoerkler.

Zoerkler will be incorporated into Xtrac, MiddleGround’s portfolio company and leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of specialist high-performance automotive applications and high-performance transmissions for top-level professional motorsport.

Xtrac’s product line will be enhanced and its offerings will be expanded into highly attractive markets by Zoerkler while keeping focus on serving long standing core motorsport and high-performance automotive customers.

In 2023, Clifford Chance also advised MiddleGround on its acquisition of Xtrac. In 2024, Clifford Chance advised MiddleGround on its acquisitions of Helix and Stemmer Imaging.

Led by private equity M&A Partner Neil Barlow, Clifford Chance’s multidisciplinary team had support from Senior Associate Mark Inkester and Associates Louise Murray, Megan Hodges and Cristina Rice.
