Christopher & Lee Ong Welcomes Three New Partners Across Corporate, Dispute Resolution, and Regulatory Practices
The leading Malaysian law firm, Christopher & Lee Ong (CLO), a member firm of Rajah & Tann Asia, is pleased to announce the admission of Siew Shiong Chan, Kumara Guru Naiker, and Eunice Quay into the firm’s partnership, effective 1 January 2026.
Over the past year, each of the new partners has achieved outstanding results in their respective practices, demonstrated strong leadership, and consistently delivered a high standard of service to clients. Their promotions reflect both their individual contributions and CLO’s continued commitment to excellence in legal services across Malaysia and the region.
Siew Shiong Chan joins as a Partner in the Corporate Practice Group. Admitted to the Malaysian Bar in March 2018, she focuses on mergers & acquisitions and corporate commercial advisory. Siew Shiong has advised a diverse portfolio of local and international clients across industries including manufacturing, reinsurance, consumer & retail, and financial services. She also provides day-to-day legal support on corporate and commercial matters, including advice on the Malaysian Companies Act 2016, employment matters, joint ventures, and procurement, supply, and customer contracts.
In September 2024, Siew Shiong Chan was seconded to Sojitz Corporation in Tokyo, one of Japan’s largest general trading houses, where she served as in-house counsel in the Energy & Healthcare Division and the Food, Beverage & Consumer Division. During her secondment, she worked closely on cross-border M&A projects across jurisdictions including India, Thailand, Australia, and Uzbekistan.
Kumara Guru Naiker joins as a Partner in the Dispute Resolution & Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration, and strategic advisory work. He regularly represents clients in disputes involving contract law, company law, winding-up proceedings, and enforcement of arbitral awards. Kumara Guru Naiker has extensive experience appearing before all levels of the Malaysian courts, including the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court.
Kumara Guru Naiker obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Adelaide in 2015 under a full scholarship from the Malaysian Public Service Department (JPA). He was also an awardee of the Business, Economics and Law Achiever’s Scholarship at Adelaide, and later earned a Master of Commercial Law from Universiti Malaya in 2024.
Eunice Quay joins as a Partner in the Regulatory & Trade Practice Group, specialising in trade and regulatory matters. She assists clients with cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate advisory. Eunice Quay has advised multinational clients on regulatory compliance, import & export controls, trade licensing, and internal compliance programs, and regularly supports appeals and negotiations with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
