Dentons Delany Reinforces Caribbean Leadership with Tricia-Gaye O'Connor as Managing Partner in Jamaica

Dentons Delany has appointed Tricia-Gaye O'Connor as Managing Partner for Jamaica, further bolstering its position as a market leader and champion of equity across various practices.

In her new role, Tricia-Gaye will co-lead the firm's Caribbean-wide Banking and Finance and Corporate practice groups, with a special focus on showcasing the firm's global capabilities in ESG and Sustainable Finance. She will also lead the firm's efforts to expand its full-service office in Kingston in multiple phases.

In addition, Tricia-Gaye will mentor local talent to become future leaders and play a significant role in Dentons Delany's commitment to this objective.

With over two decades of experience in corporate and commercial law and structured finance, Tricia-Gaye O'Connor has a particular focus on advising companies, including local banks and regulated institutions, on cross-border financing transactions, capital markets, regulatory compliance, and legal due diligence procedures.

She also has extensive experience in advising on various matters related to life insurance, technology, and fintech.

Tricia-Gaye O’Connor expressed her thoughts on her appointment, stating that she is impressed by Dentons Delany's ability to establish the Dentons brand in the region in a relatively short amount of time.

“I am particularly excited by the firm’s growing practice in ESG and their unique placement to add value especially for multi-jurisdictional transactions in the Caribbean. I am thrilled that I have the honour of expanding the Dentons’ footprint in Jamaica,” Tracia-Gaye said.

According to Dustin Delany, Tricia-Gaye's wealth of experience and leadership skills make her a valuable addition to the team for expanding the firm's presence in Jamaica and the broader region.

Tricia-Gaye's appointment strengthens Dentons Delany's cross-border practice groups, following the addition of Corporate Lead Partner Rosalind L.C. Bynoe in Barbados earlier this year. Rachel Juliet Welch-Phillips, recently appointed Lead Partner for ESG and Sustainable Finance, and Partner for Corporate and Commercial in Trinidad and Tobago, will collaborate with Tricia-Gaye and Rosalind to expand the firm's award-winning Corporate and Commercial practice across the region.
