The prominent British international law firm and professional services group, Mishcon de Reya LLP has promoted Margrit Trein (Legal Director – International Arbitration) in its London office. In her new role, she will contribute to leading the firm’s international arbitration and public international law practice.
Sharing her thoughts on the promotion, she said,

Experience
Margrit Trein has been associated with Mishcon de Reya LLP for over a year and a half, most recently serving as Managing Associate in the International Arbitration team before her elevation to Legal Director.
Prior to this, she worked with Simmons & Simmons as a Consultant and Contract Lawyer in International Arbitration, handling complex arbitration matters across jurisdictions.
She spent over six years at Eversheds Sutherland, where she progressed from Associate to Senior Associate in Litigation & Dispute Resolution, focusing on international arbitration and public international law. Her earlier experience also includes roles as a Trainee Solicitor at Eversheds and as a Paralegal at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr and Berwin Leighton Paisner.
In addition, she has contributed to academia and research as a Student Research Assistant at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies and as a Student Coach for the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition at Leiden University.
Education
Margrit Trein holds a Master’s degree in Public International Law (Cum Laude) from Leiden University. She also completed a Summer School in International Commercial Litigation and Arbitration from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from The College of Law (London) and holds a Master of Arts in International Relations, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Spanish, from the University of Exeter.
