The leading global law firm Dentons has been appointed as the sole legal provider by DS Smith to impart global real estate and construction legal services.

Headquartered in London, DS Smith is a leading contributor to sustainable packaging solutions worldwide. Having about 30,000 employees, it operates in 34 countries worldwide from a network of over 440 sites.

Matthew Stone, the group property director at DS Smith commented, "In order to continue to delight our customers worldwide and to support our business in its growth, we have developed a detailed property strategy, which includes targeted building extensions to our existing 57m sq ft estate, together with some strategic new developments in some key markets. Dentons' significant experience in the real estate and construction area will ensure that we have the right support in the right markets to be able to deliver on this strategy."

Daniel Lowen, the real estate and global relationship partner who led the Dentons team said, "This is an incredible opportunity for our global real estate and construction teams to work together and build a successful client relationship with DS Smith on a worldwide basis. Our collective experience of complicated, cross-border deals working with multi-disciplinary teams in multiple jurisdictions aligns exactly with the 'Golden Thread' pillar of our five-year strategy, which is about supporting clients across practice areas, sectors and geographies, along with a commitment to make real estate one of our primary investment areas."

Lowen has vast experience in advising on complex, multi-jurisdictional real estate matters. He was supported by presentation team members Tasmyn Brittlebank (construction counsel), Conny Lennox (real estate associate), Greg Rigby (legal project manager) and Sophie Smith (paralegal). They were supported by Mark Macaulay (construction partner) and David Payton (real estate litigation partner).
