DLA Piper strengthens its Hong Kong Corporate Practice with the addition of M&A expert Xin Fang

With Xin Fang's arrival, DLA Piper now has 28 partners in Hong Kong five of those have joined the firm in a little over a year

London-headquartered multinational law firm DLA Piper has hired servicers of M&A expert Xin Fang in its Hong Kong corporate practice as a partner from Mayer Brown.

Xin, who is one of the few M&A practitioners in Hong Kong who speaks fluent mandarin, Cantonese and English, was previously associated with Mayor Brown as a counsel.

She studied in Hong Kong and the UK and has work experience in Hong Kong, where she is based, besides Beijing and Shanghai.

DLA Piper has been in an expansion mode in Hong Kong for the past year as Xin becomes its fifth partner hire in little over a year and second since December 2022.

DLA Piper secured the services of its previous two partners by raiding fellow UK law firm Linklaters. While it hired banking expert Trinh Hoang in December, the firm added banking expert Trinh Hoang, it added projects lawyer Crystal Chen to its growing Hong Kong team in May last year.

Xin's practice primarily focuses on international and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity transactions, with a focus on Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. She also advises on all matters of corporate and commercial law.

She also negotiates shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements and business transfer agreements.

With Xin's arrival, DLA Piper now has 28 partners in Hong Kong.
