Pinsent Masons Expands By Securing Abu Dhabi Global Market License

The achievement allows the firm to operate in the Emirate and establish a representative office on Al Maryah Island

Taking a significant step to strengthen its presence in the Middle East, multinational law firm, Pinsent Masons has secured a license from the registration authority of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

The strategic move follows the firm’s broader growth initiatives in the Middle East, including the recent granting of a license to practice law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

With nearly two decades of presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the firm has consistently explored avenues to enhance its service offerings to meet the evolving needs of clients. The new representative office will facilitate engagement with clients in Abu Dhabi and extend support across the UAE.

Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030, which focuses on creating an innovative, sustainable, and modern environment for investors, corporates, and individuals, aligns with Pinsent Masons’ ambitions to expand its footprint and bolster client growth in the region.

Catherine Workman, the head of the Middle East for Pinsent Masons emphasized the firm’s commitment to clients based in Abu Dhabi. She stated that obtaining the license reaffirmed their dedication. The representative office will enable the firm to deliver a more engaged and tailored service, particularly benefiting businesses without an existing international presence.

She highlighted the firm’s dedication to better serve clients’ evolving needs in the region and contribute exemplary legal services on a global scale. The Middle East presents a thriving business environment and a rich cultural tapestry, and Pinsent Masons is poised to leverage its expertise to support businesses operating in the region.

With a long-standing presence in the Middle East, the firm serves high-profile clients across core sectors including energy, infrastructure, technology, science and industry, real estate, and financial services.

Currently, it has 79 lawyers in Dubai and Qatar.
