Amber Group appoints Benjamin Bai as CLO

The new CO of Amber Group was chosen by Intellectual Asset Management and Managing Intellectual Property, respectively, as one of the Top 300 IP Strategists in the World and one of the 50 Most Influential People in IP in 2020.

In a pivotal move amidst an ever-changing legal landscape, Amber Group has named Benjamin Bai as its Chief Legal Officer changing environment for digital assets, where the need for regulation is becoming more and more critical.

The chief legal officer (CLO) of the digital asset platform has been stolen from Ant Group, where he was vice president and chief IP and international litigation counsel.

As Amber Group expands into new markets with a variety of regulatory environments, strengthens its commitment to regulatory compliance, and engages with policymakers and regulators internationally, Benjamin Bai will be tasked with leading the development of strong risk management frameworks and approaches.

The new CO of Amber Group was chosen by Intellectual Asset Management and Managing Intellectual Property, respectively, as one of the Top 300 IP Strategists in the World and one of the 50 Most Influential People in IP in 2020. Additionally, he received additional distinguished honours, such as China Law and Practice's IP Lawyer of the Year in 2015.

Prior to joining Ant Group, he worked as a partner at the American and Chinese law firms Jones Day and Allen & Overy, where he concentrated on high-stakes IP litigation and licencing.
