Declan Redmond to depart for Kroll in London

The Company will have Declan Redmond as its international business development manager

Declan Redmond, CEO of Keating Chambers, has left to join Kroll in London, a company that specializes in corporate investigations and risk consulting.

With this new role, Redmond will be taking on a senior business development position that spans the Middle and Far East. As part of the role, he will integrate his skills in construction, commercial, and chancery litigation, which will allow him to work across his onshore and offshore network. Previously, he spent more than eight years at Keating, where he transformed the set's operations and operations.

In addition to maintaining Keating's reputation as one of the world's leading technology companies in construction, engineering, and infrastructure, Redmond managed the company's growth into Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, particularly South Africa.

Furthermore, Redmond managed the transition from long-serving head of chambers Paul Darling QC to Marcus Taverner QC, who left the set in 2017 to join 39 Essex Chambers, to Alexander Nissen QC, whom he replaced in 2020.

Added to Redmond's role is Alison Crosland, who supports the set's clerking, business operations, marketing functions, while also managing the set's regulatory and insurance obligations.

Having served as a director of operations at Ofcom and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner for a number of years, Crosland has extensive experience in business operations. The input provided by Crosland was instrumental in improving the set's service to members and refreshing its approach to diversity and inclusion.

After joining Wilberforce in 1982, Redmond rose to the position of senior clerk, which he combined with the title of chief executive in 2002. As one of the first clerks to do so, he transformed the perception and business of Chancery sets among commercial law firms.

As a result of his move to Kroll, all levels of clerk continue to broaden their horizons for opportunities in the wider legal sector, where their skills are highly valued. Ian Moyler and Brian Lee have left Brick Court Chambers and 7 King's Bench Walk to work as consultants for Grant Thornton. Moreover, Redmond's predecessor at Keating, Nick Child, leads Secretariat International's highly regarded team.

Among the many clerks who have left chambers to join Kroll, Redmond is not the only one. Jessica Barnes, a rising star in the clerking world, left One Essex Court in May to join the firm.
