DLA Piper is rated as the world's third-largest global law firm in terms of its reach and the world's top M&A law firm in terms of deals volume

Multinational law firm DLA Piper which has its presence in more than 40 countries has announced big changes to its office leadership by getting on board five new managing partners for its offices located in Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Seattle.

Nicole J.E. Brennig is all set to become the sole office managing partner this spring at DLA Piper's Austin office. She was associated with John Guaragna since 2019 as a co-managing partner and focuses on domestic and foreign alternative investment representation, including advising clients concerning private investment funds, syndicated and direct co-investments, and other related matters.

Mark Waite who has been serving as global co-chair of DLA Piper's industrials sector and global co-chair of the Chemicals subsector, has been named office managing partner in Houston. He has more than 25 years of experience counseling clients and representing them in complex litigation, particularly in the areas of energy, construction, refining, petrochemicals and industrial operations.

Peter Ekberg who has been serving as a partner in the firm's Corporate practice becomes the DLA Piper's Minneapolis office managing partner. Ekberg advises clients throughout their business life cycles, including formation, public and private capital raising, recapitalizations and restructurings, sales and dissolutions. He also has extensive experience in corporate governance for both public and private companies.

Corporate and securities lawyer David Lewis, who focuses on representing publicly traded and privately held companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and other financing transactions, complex corporate transactions, corporate governance and related matters, has been named as the new managing partner of DLA Piper's Phoenix office.

Alison Maxwell is now deputy managing partner of DLA Piper's Seattle office. She joins DLA Piper's Seattle office managing partner Steven Yentzer. Alison Maxwell concentrates on international tax with a focus on operational structuring, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration.

"I look forward to collaborating with this new group of leaders who bring fresh perspectives, impressive and wide-ranging experience and a demonstrated dedication to the future of the firm," DLA Piper's US chair and global co-chair Frank Ryan said.

DLA Piper is rated as the world's third-largest global law firm in terms of its reach and the world's top M&A law firm in terms of deals volume has its offices across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
