Simon joins Withers after working at Dentons in Hong Kong as the head of the private funds practise.

International law firm Withers has bolstered its cross-border funds team in Asia by adding Simon Wong, partner in Hong Kong. Simon's practise specialises on investment funds, including private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, hedge, crypto currency, and RMB-USD funds. He represents investment managers, investors, and family offices in these endeavours.

Simon also provides legal counsel on financial regulations and other matters affecting investment managers in addition to his expertise with investment funds. He is certified in New South Wales, New York and Hong Kong.

"We are happy to welcome Simon to our Asia team", said Jeremy Wakeham, head of Withers' Business division. Over the past several years, our funds team has grown in size and scope and Simon is now a member of a worldwide network of advisors in Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong, three of Asia's major financial centres. To clients that represent institutional investment funds or private capital, the team will offer thorough coverage.

According to Simon, "Withers has built a compelling funds team in Asia, and I am excited to work alongside Daniel Yong in Singapore and Koji Yamamoto and Yoshiyuki Omori in Tokyo, as well as colleagues in Europe and the United States. Together we can provide fund managers, investors and family offices with a joined-up international service."

The investment funds group at Withers has provided advice to some of the most successful fund managers and investors, assisting them in effectively navigating challenging cross-border legal, regulatory, and tax concerns. The firm has a market-leading international tax advisory team, and is extremely skilled at structuring funds with an emphasis on Asia while utilising international tax treaties and regimes to achieve the best possible tax efficiency for its clients.
